Elizabeth Boyes Walker was born on November 17, 1887, in Lewisville, Jefferson County, Idaho Territory, one of the early settler families of that community. She married Parley Harker and raised their family in Lewisville, where she lived for essentially her entire life.
After her husband Parley’s death in 1938, Elizabeth remained in Lewisville. When the Harker family moved the old family house to a new foundation on a nearby lot, they settled it close to Elizabeth’s home — she lived, Norman recalls, just across the canal. He describes her as a strict woman with whom he was not particularly close. His visits to her were an occasional part of his childhood, but no warm memories of her emerge from the oral history.
Elizabeth Boyes Walker Harker died on March 19, 1975, in Idaho Falls, Bonneville County, Idaho, while Norman was living in Salem, Oregon. She was buried at Lewisville Cemetery, Jefferson County, Idaho.
